Having been founded in 2011, Drowne Records has recently released contemporary techno by a broad range of talented techno producers. One of them is Spark Taberner from the Netherlands, who has been nominated for the best dutch techno producer in 2012, and gained endless support due to the fact that he is one of the top names on many labels! Now it’s time to present his second appearing on our imprint. With the 'Osmosis EP' Spark Taberner shows up with four strong tracks, reaching from dusky atmospheres to gritty peaktime techno, and is ready to create ripples!
Opener, and title track 'Osmosis' feels like back in the days and works you with spaced-out analog acid synths, and a dark fogged atmosphere. It puts focus on the melody which floats over a pounding rhythm, and is drenched in rawness.
Runner-up 'Push It Out' starts atmospheric with a striking Bassdrum and grinding-in percussions. The track keeps on rolling, when snaredrums are flashing up and discharge into a massive drumstructure in the breaks!
The third track 'Confusion' spends no time messing around. It works with twanging synthstabs which create a hypnotic melody and lifts the mood up with an air raid siren before it detonates
Closing the EP 'Go Back' keeps moving forward steadily and puts focus on a gorgeous spastical percussion workout which systematic bursts and moves.
Overall this release has a lot to offer, and presents a powerful collage showing how versatile techno can be, without loosing the attention on the functionality!
